Interact reduces administration costs at HMV and can be easily updated by non IT staff.
HMV is the UK and Ireland’s leading music, dvd and games specialist, offering authoritative range and depth of selection across all genres and product formats. HMV operates around 250 stores in key shopping locations nationwide, as well as a successful online store at www.hmv.co.uk
According to Martin Ward, Intranet Project Manager at HMV, they researched and analysed several intranet solutions before opting for Interact Intranet. The main problem with HMV’s previous intranet was the use of outdated technology. The system was not able to adapt to HMV’s changing requirements. “One of the main advantages of Interact is that non-IT staff can easily up-date and amend content. Interact will help us reduce administration costs and improve communication such as circulating news items, policies, procedures and KPI’s to individual stores”.
HMV has added to the functionality of the core Interact system with additional business applications. The Question Bank Module will be used for a variety of uses, though in particular, to assess business communication effectiveness and engagement. HMV will also use the Statistics Module to evaluate the effectiveness of the Intranet and improve communication within the organisation. With the Statistics module, specific information such as ‘views per day’ can be seen by the click of a button.
